God Has a Plan For You

It does not matter how dark your circumstances may seem. When you are connected to God’s plan, there is nothing the enemy can do to destroy you. Your life is in God’s hands, and he said, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV). What a promise from God’s Word!

The Enemy’s Plans Cannot Prosper

In Exodus 1, the children of Israel faced one of the most trying times in their lives. The Egyptian Pharaoh ordered all the Hebrew boys, two and under, to be thrown into the Nile River to feed them to the crocodiles. This man was full of Satan. It is hard to fathom someone so cruel, but Pharaoh felt threatened because the Israelites were multiplying faster than the Egyptians. And he was afraid that they would become more powerful than the Egyptians, so he did the unthinkable.

But the Bible says, “the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew” (Exodus 1:12 KJV). The more the enemy attacks you, the more you grow, the stronger you get.

Faith Overcomes Fear

During this time, a man from the tribe of Levi married a woman from the tribe of Levi, and she gave birth to a son. “And when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months” (Exodus 2:2). Moses’ parents recognized there was something special about their child. The Bible says, “It was by faith that Moses’ parents hid him for three months when he was born. They saw that God had given them an unusual child, and they were not afraid to disobey the king’s command” (Hebrews 11:23 NLT). Moses’ parents realized God had a plan for their child. They determined their child wasn’t going to drown in the Nile River. The devil is a liar.

But Moses’s parents could only hide him for so long. How do you hide a baby who cries when they are hungry or their stomach hurts or their diaper needs changing in the midst of Pharaoh’s searching guards and prying neighbors? But the time finally came when she could no longer hide him. What did she do? She did something radical and took a leap of faith.

Faith Doesn’t Always Make Sense

The Bible says Moses’ mother made an ark of bulrushes and waterproofed it with tar and pitch; then she placed Moses in it. She then took the ark and put it among the reeds by the Nile River. Where did she get such a radical idea? The Holy Spirit must have given it to her. He must have reminded her of the story of Noah and the ark, how God protected Noah and his entire family from the flood.

There were crocodiles in the Nile River. Putting a 3-month-old baby in a basket there made no sense, but God! Faith doesn’t always make sense. When you put your trust in God, God will take care of you.

God’s Perfect Timing

Watch the hand of God at work in Moses’ life. Moses’ older sister, Miriam, stood by the river, watching the ark. Suddenly, she saw Pharaoh’s daughter coming down to the river to wash herself. God made sure as soon as Pharaoh’s daughter went down to the river, the basket would be in position where she would be the first one to see it. Look at God! He knows how to protect your loved ones. If he could keep Moses in a river full of crocodiles, he can protect your children. That is a word for someone. God’s got your children covered.

Pharaoh’s daughter sent for one of her maids to fetch the basket, and when she opened it, the baby was crying. She recognized that the baby belonged to the Hebrews, but she had compassion for Moses. The Bible says, “The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will” (Proverbs 21:1 KJV). God turned the heart of Pharaoh’s daughter. As the daughter of the Pharoah, if she wanted something, she would have it.

Miriam suddenly approached Pharaoh’s daughter. “Shall I get one of the Hebrew women to nurse the baby for you?” she asked Pharoah. “Yes, go,” Pharaoh’s daughter told her. Miriam returned with her mother, and Pharaoh’s daughter told Moses’ mother she would pay her to raise the baby for her. Moses’ mother was getting paid to raise her own son! Glory to God! God took the money of the Pharaoh, who gave the orders to kill all the Hebrew boys, and raised up Moses, who would deliver his people from Egyptian slavery. My God!

Someone lift your hands to heaven and give God praise. God has a plan for you, and his plan is at work in your life right now. You are born to win. Declare it over yourself, “I’m born to win!” The weapon formed against you will not prosper (Isaiah 54:17). God is turning the tables in your favor and working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).
