God Will Make a Way For You
Is your back against the wall? Maybe you’re wondering how God is going to deliver you because your situation seems impossible. You’re sure God is going to come through for you, but you just don’t know how he is going to do it. Be encouraged. God is telling you, “Don’t be afraid.” He is telling you like he told the children of Israel through his prophet, Moses, “Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord!” The enemies you see today, you will see no more forever (Exodus 14:13 NKJV).
GOD WILL FIGHT FOR YOU
In Exodus 14, the children of Israel had just escaped from Pharoah and the Egyptians who had enslaved them for almost 400 years. The Egyptians had abused them and threw their baby boys into the Nile River. And the children of Israel cried out to the Lord, and their cry reached heaven. God answered their prayers and sent them a deliverer, Moses, who told Pharaoh, “Let my people go!” Pharoah was stubborn and refused, but after God judged the Egyptians with ten plagues, he agreed to let them go.
The Israelites wasted no time leaving Egypt, but Pharoah changed his mind, and he took 600 chariots and pursued them. Soon, the children of Israel found themselves trapped in between Pharaoh’s army and the Red Sea. Their backs were against the wall. They didn’t know which way to turn. They didn’t know what to do, and they cried out to Moses. “Did you bring us out here to kill us?” “The Lord will fight for you,” Moses told them, “and you shall hold your peace” (Exodus 14:14).
YOU HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED
And Moses cried out to the Lord, but God told Moses, “Why are you crying out to me?” This almost seems ironic, but God wanted Moses to know what kind of power he had invested into him. You may be crying out to God, expecting your deliverance to come from someone else, but God is challenging you to look at what you have. Stop focusing on what you don’t have. What God has God asked you to do? Perhaps you think you don’t have what it takes. Maybe you don’t have the right connections or experience or finances. But God isn’t concerned about what you don’t have because when you have God on your side, you have everything you need.
He will give you a miracle with what you have - a slingshot and a stone, five loaves and two fish, a small pot of oil. He will tell you to split the Red Sea with the rod that is in your hands. He is the God of the impossible. Nothing is too hard for him. Look at what you have, and give God praise because little is much when God is in it.
NO WEAPON FORMED WILL PROSPER
So, God told Moses, “Lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea” (Exodus 14:16). Glory to God! God will come through for you. Trust him. He has never failed, and he never will. He will make a way out of no way. You’re going to make it to the other side. You’re headed to the promised land.
So, Moses stretched his rod, and the Red Sea split wide open. And the children of Israel crossed over on dry ground, but Pharoah and his army chased them into the middle of the sea, but God fought for Israel, and he tore off the Egyptians’ chariot wheels. And they cried out, “Let us flee from Israel for God is fighting for them!” Your enemies may be plotting against you, but God is on your side. He will deliver you from their snares. The weapon may be formed against you, but it will not prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
After Moses and the children of Israel had completely crossed over, God told Moses to stretch his rod over the sea again. Moses obeyed, and God closed the waters, drowning Pharoah and the Egyptian army. And Moses and the children of Israel sang and gave God praise for their mighty deliverance.
GOD WILL DO IT AGAIN
The same God who delivered the children of Israel from Pharoah and the Egyptians is the same God who will rescue you. God does not change. If he did it before, he will do it again. Your trouble has his attention. He has heard your cry and seen your tears, and he is about to act on your behalf. Trust him. He will make a way for you.
