God Will Provide
The first miracle Jesus performed was a miracle of provision, which proves He is interested in your needs, wants, and every detail of your life. He is not ignoring your prayers. Your requests have His attention, and He is about to give you your heart’s desire.
Determined Faith
In John 2, Jesus and His disciples were invited to a wedding at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was also there, “and when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto Him, ‘They have no wine’” (John 2:3). Notice the Bible says they didn’t need wine; they wanted it. God cares about your wants as well as your needs.
Mary told Jesus about the situation. No doubt, the bride and groom would have suffered great embarrassment. But Jesus told Mary, “Woman, what have I to do with thee? Mine hour is not yet come” (John 2:4). Sometimes God tests us to see how we will respond. How desperate are you for a miracle?
At this time, Jesus had not yet performed any public miracles, but Mary ignored Him. She knew the Lord could not resist faith, and she placed a demand on the anointing on His life. Turning to the servants, she said, “Whatsoever He saith unto you, do it” (John 2:5). Mary refused to take “no” for an answer. She was determined not to let up until the Lord answered her request.
Just Do It
Nearby there were six waterpots that the Jews used for ceremonial washing. Each jar contained about twenty to thirty gallons. “Jesus saith unto them, ‘Fill the waterpots with water…’” (John 2:7). What is God asking you to do? It may not make sense, but as Mary said, whatever He tells you to do, do it. God is not asking you to turn the water into wine. He is asking you to do what you can, and when you do what you can, He will do what you cannot.
So, the servants obeyed, and the Bible says, “And they filled them up to the brim” (John 2:7). These servants weren’t playing. They filled the jars to the brim. When God tells you to do something, don’t go halfway. Go all the way through with it.
If He tells you to march around Jericho seven times, do it. If He tells you to dip in the Jordan River seven times, do it. God is not asking you to understand His ways. He is just asking you to trust Him.
Jesus then told the servants, “Now draw some out and give it to the governor of the feast.” They obeyed His instructions, and when the master of the banquet tasted the water which was now wine, he told the bridegroom, “Everyone brings out the best wine first. And after everyone has had plenty to drink, they bring out the cheapest wine. But you have saved the best wine for last.”
God Will Make a Way
“This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth His glory; and His disciples believed on Him” (John 2:11).
God will provide. He will make a way where there seems to be no way. When your back is against the wall and you don’t know how your situation is going to work out, God will come through for you. He is your Shepherd, and He cares for your needs (Psalm 23:1). When you take Him at His word and put your faith in Him, He will answer your prayers and give you exceedingly, abundantly, above all that you can ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
God Is in the Miracle-Working Business
What an honor that we get to proclaim the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and tell the world about His miracle-working power! We are so excited to do just this in November when we travel to Pakistan to hold our first miracle crusade in the nation! There are many in Pakistan who have not heard or experienced the miracle ministry of Jesus – or that He is still performing miracles for those in need today!
Would you sow a seed of $1,000, $750, $500, $250, $100, $50, or $20 to help us cover the costs of our Pakistan miracle crusade? We are bringing together more than 100,000 people to hear the word of the Lord and to witness His power at work. Your support will help us get there, facilitate the event, and cover the cost of bussing such a large number of people to our event location. This is such an exciting opportunity! We want to seize it!
