prayer of Salvation
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." - John 3:16 KJV
HOW TO RECEIVE JESUS
"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."
- Acts 16:31
- Acts 16:31
Step 1
Know God loves you and has a plan for you. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son (Jesus), that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). God's desire for you is eternal life. Jesus said, "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly" (John 10:10).
Step 2
Realize you are a sinner in need of a Savior. The Bible says, "All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). We have all said, thought, or did things we shouldn't have. Sin separates us from God and results in death. "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23).
Step 3
Accept the truth that Jesus is the only way to God. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" (John 14:6). We cannot earn salvation. We are saved by God's grace. "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). Jesus died on the cross, was buried, and rose again on the third day. And because he lives, we will live also, if we believe in him.
Step 4
Repent and receive God's forgiveness. Acknowledge that you are a sinner, believe Jesus died for you and rose from the dead, and ask for God's forgiveness. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). We suggest you pray the prayer below to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
Pray Now
Lord Jesus, forgive me for all my sins. I believe in my heart, and I confess with my mouth that you died on the cross for me. You were buried in a tomb, but on the third day, God raised you from the dead. You are now seated at God’s right hand. And soon, very soon, you are coming again. Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you. From this day moving forward, I turn my back on the world, the flesh, and the devil, to serve you. Thank you, Lord, for forgiving me of all my sins, saving my soul, and writing my name in the Lamb’s book of life. Amen.
CONGRATULATIONS!
If you prayed that prayer and meant it with all of your heart, let us be the first to welcome you into the family of God. You are now a new creation in Christ. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Surrendering your life to Christ is the best and most important choice you have ever made, and heaven is rejoicing at your decision. “Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth” (Luke 15:10).
