You Must Refuse to Give Up

Let’s just set the atmosphere real early and say, “Devil, I refuse to give up. I REFUSE.” Come on somebody. If there is one thing Pastor Aimee and I learned from the Holy Spirit is that when all hell begins to break loose, you are only a matter of moments from your breakthrough. Come on! I dare you to say, “I’m close to a major breakthrough!” I am not talking about a trickle or a few raindrops. I am talking about a deluge, something MASSIVE.

Let’s get into the Word. The Bible says in Mark 2, “And again he (Jesus) entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house” (verse 1). Soon the house was packed with people, and a large crowd also gathered around outside. You could not even get to the door because so many people were surrounding the house. Some people were hanging through the windows. These people were hungry for the power of God. And when Jesus preached, the atmosphere began to shift, and the anointing of the Holy Ghost began to descend. Glory to God.

Right when the atmosphere was thick for miracles, four men arrived, carrying their paralyzed friend on a bed. They could not even get to the door, but these four men were full of determination and faith. This paralyzed man was wise; he knew how to choose his friends. He was unable to walk, but he hung around people who could. He connected with people who were willing to carry him until he got his breakthrough. You got to hook up with people who are determined to get you to Jesus. You got to hook up with people who are willing to carry you until you can carry yourself. Some of you are hanging around the wrong type of crowd. You got to be around people of like, precious faith.

The Bible says, “And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had BROKEN it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay” (Mark 2:4). These are my kind of guys. They refused to take “no” for an answer. They refused to give up. Faith will always find a way. When they couldn’t get to the door, they climbed up the house and went to work on the roof. My God! One of them sent for a crowbar. Another sent for a sledgehammer. Someone else sent for a pickaxe. And they worked until they broke through. They worked until they got their friend in the presence of Jesus. That is my and my wife’s job - to rip the roof open and get you in the presence of Jesus. Pastor Aimee and I cannot heal anybody, but we can help get you in the presence of Jesus.

So, the four men continued to break the roof apart. They began to move the plywood that held the roof together. One of them climbed on the rafter and stumped the rock sheet out of the ceiling. And dust began to trickle down on the Pharisees. They must have thought these men were crazy. No doubt they said these men were overzealous. But the four men paid these religious folk no mind. They had come too far to give up now, and they lowered their paralyzed friend in the presence of Jesus. My God! I dare you to open your mouth and say, “I’m in the presence of Jesus! ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!” Your miracle is about to take place any minute now.

The Bible says, “When Jesus saw their FAITH…” I love the Word of God. The Pharisees called their action foolishness, but Jesus called it FAITH. When you use your faith, some people will think you lost your mind. But that’s okay. You are the one believing for a miracle, and no naysayer, no devil in hell can stop you from receiving your breakthrough.

“When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee” (verse 5). The Holy Ghost allowed Jesus to see in the realm of the Spirit. Jesus could see that the man needed a healing in the natural, but he also needed spiritual healing. And when Jesus forgave the man of his sins, the Pharisees got upset. They shouted, “Blasphemy!” But Jesus said, “But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house” (verses 10-11).

This man who was paralyzed, who couldn’t walk, began to get up. Strength came into his legs that were paralyzed for years. He stood up and began to lift his left leg and then his right leg. He began to march up and down. When he reached down and picked up his mat, the crowd went wild, screaming, shouting, rejoicing. His four friends began dancing on the roof. Tears were streaming down their faces.

Thank God they didn’t quit when their situation looked impossible. Thank God they were aggressive. Their friend was no longer paralyzed. He was jumping and shouting. He could go back to work and provide for his family. God did NOT disappoint their FAITH. He rewarded their determination, and he will do the same for you if you refuse to give up. Your situation may look impossible but hang in there. You are on the brink of a MIRACLE!

God Bless,
Pastors Sean and Aimee Pinder
