Fight For It
If it is worth having, then it is worth fighting for. God will sometimes allow us to seemingly stumble upon some breakthroughs, but most of the time, he requires us to roll up our sleeves, dig in our heels, and fight for our miracle. We have a role to play, and when we do what we can, God will do what we cannot.
When God called Joshua to lead the children of Israel into the promised land, he told him, “Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses” (Joshua 1:3 KJV). God had promised the land of Israel to Abraham’s seed, but they had to put their faith to action if they were going to receive the fulfillment of God’s Word for their lives.
In other words, they had to walk on the land to possess it. They had to fight for it. If you are not willing to fight for what God has promised you, you will not get it. I don’t know about you, but I was born with a fight in my soul. The Holy Spirit lives inside me, and he gave me the “power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy” (Luke 10:19).
“Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4). The Lord is with you, and he is telling you like he told Joshua, “There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee” (John 1:5). As long as you walk with God, he guarantees you the victory for every battle you face. You will not lose even one fight. Glory to God.
The Bible says, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith” (1 John 5:4). The word, overcome, in this verse, means to carry off the victory by a landslide. God is about to give you a landslide victory. Who am I preaching to? The Holy Spirit sent me to encourage someone on the verge of giving up. Don’t throw in the towel. Stand your ground and fight back. The battle is not yours; it belongs to the Lord.
God is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). The same God who drowned Pharaoh and his army in the Red Sea is fighting for you. He delivered Moses and the children of Israel from their enemies, and he will do the same for you. He made a way for his people in the past, and he will do it again.
He is telling you like he told Joshua, “Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest” (John 1:9). Be encouraged. God is on your side, and if God be for you, who can be against you? (Romans 8:31).
So, Joshua and the children of Israel put their faith in God and obeyed his strategy to conquer the land he promised them. And the Bible says in Joshua 21, “The Lord gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein” (verse 43).
“And the Lord gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the Lord delivered all their enemies into their hand” (Joshua 21:44). Not one of their enemies prevailed over them. The Lord delivered every one of their adversaries into their hands. And “there failed not ought of any good thing which the Lord had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass” (Joshua 21:45).
When you dare to trust God and fight for what he promised you, everything he said will come to pass in your life. God is ready to fulfill his word to you, so take a step of faith and go after his purpose for you with everything inside you. The Bible says, “the violent take it by force” (Matthew 11:12). Glory to God. Rise up in your faith and fight. This is your season of breakthroughs.
