The Bible Is Your Blueprint
The Word of God is the primary method the Holy Spirit uses to speak to his children, so it is crucial to meditate on the Scriptures every day. If you are seeking direction for your life, spend time alone with God and read the Bible. God will speak to you through his Word and show you the next step to take to fulfill your divine destiny. "Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me" (Psalm 119:133).
GOD'S WORD IS A LAMP
David was a man of the Word of God, and he said, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" (Psalm 119:105). If you feel like you are in the dark about an important decision, or you are unsure how to move forward with your life, get into the Word of God. Keep it before your eyes, in your ears, and in your mouth. When you set time aside to study the Scriptures and meditate on them, you will feel like someone turned on a flashlight. You will no longer guess which next step you should take. God will speak clearly to you through his Word, and you will be amazed at how relevant his Word applies to your life.
CONFIRMATION AND ASSURANCE IN GOD'S WORD
Jesus said, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God" (Matthew 4:4). God is constantly speaking, and he will use men and women of God who are full of his Word to confirm what he is saying to you. Have you ever been listening to an anointed preacher declare the Word of God, and it seems that he is talking directly to you? The Scriptures suddenly become alive to you, and you receive a divine answer to your situation. The Holy Spirit is confirming God's Word to you through one of his servants.
And you can be sure God is talking to you through a man or woman of God by comparing what that person is saying to God's Word. My wife and I have learned that the safest confirmation or divine communication you can receive is through the Scriptures because God's Word is never wrong. "For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are done in truth" (Psalm 33:4). "Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him" (Proverbs 30:5). The surest way you can be led by the Spirit of God is through the Word of God.
Someone can prophesy to you, but if their prophecy does not line up with the Bible, throw it away. No human prophecy or carnal wisdom is greater than the Word of God. Through God's Word, everything was made (John 1:1-3). And Christ is the Word of God made flesh (John 1:14).
TRUTH AND POWER OF GOD'S WORD
Jesus said, "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come" (John 16:13). The Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth, and the truth is the Word of God. Jesus said, "Thy word is truth" (John 17:17).
Oftentimes when we find ourselves in trouble, it is because we have not consulted God's Word. Many people marry the wrong person or make the wrong business decision because they did not take the time to study God's Word. David emphasized the importance and power of God's Word in Psalm 9, saying, "More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward" (Psalm 9:10-11). God will help you avoid catastrophic mistakes by warning you through the Scriptures.
SUCCESS IN GOD'S WORD
If you want God to answer your prayers, and if you're going to live a successful Christian life, you must spend time in the Word of God. The Bible says, "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success" (Joshua 1:8). If you are not succeeding in life (according to God's standards), get into the Word of God. The Word of God is full of the wisdom of God, and the Scriptures will make you successful if you meditate on them and obey them.
Jesus said, "the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life" (John 6:63). If you feel spiritually dead, meditate on the Word of God. It will revive you and revolutionize every area of your life, nourishing your spirit, renewing your mind, and conforming your image into Christ's. You will begin to notice an improvement in your relationships and an increase in your faith as you continue to study God’s Word and apply it to your life.
God will start doing things that you thought were never possible, and you will be confident about God's plan for your life. You will not be confused about your purpose or important decisions anymore because God will guide you with clear direction through his Word, so do not miss the opportunity to consume the Word of God every day. It is your roadmap to victory, your blueprint to success.
