You're Going to Make It

When God gives you a word, you can stake your life on it. It does not matter what the enemy throws at you to challenge that word over your life. Stand your ground. If God said it, he will bring it to pass (Numbers 23:19). You’re going to make it to the other side.

CAUGHT OFF GUARD

In Mark 4, Jesus told his disciples, “Let us pass over unto the other side” (Mark 4:35 KJV). The Holy Spirit was guiding Jesus to the other side because of a specific purpose. On the other shore, the region of the Gadarenes, was a man possessed by a legion of demons. This man was so fierce, he could not be tamed, not even with chains. No one could pass his way, and he lived in the tombs, crying and cutting himself.

The demons in that man had been unchallenged for years, so when they heard Jesus and his disciples were crossing the Sea of Galilee to the Gadarenes, their ears perked up. And the Bible says, “And there arose a great storm of wind…” The word “arose” in the Greek means to catch off guard. This storm came out of nowhere.

Have you been caught off guard lately? That sickness, that financial difficulty, that problem in your marriage just came out of nowhere. The storm the disciples suddenly found themselves in came out of nowhere, “and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full” (Mark 4:37). Notice the waves were beating into the ship. This storm had a personality. It wasn’t natural. It was demonic.

NEW LEVELS, NEW DEVILS

If all hell has been breaking loose in your life, it is because you are about to conquer new territory, and the devil is nervous because you’re making progress. But I got bad news for the devil because you are not by yourself. “Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4). You are armed and dangerous. God is on your side, and if God be for you, who can be against you? (Romans 8:31).

I dare you to say, “Look out, devil, I’m coming, and I’m not coming to take sides, I’m coming to take over.” You know why the enemy is nervous. The Bible says God will give you every place that the sole of your foot shall tread (Joshua 1:3). That is why he is trying to stop you. If you just get your foot in the door, it’s game over, so he is doing everything in his power to try to stop you. But he can’t stop you. The weapon may be formed against you, but it won’t prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

PEACE! BE STILL!

This storm can’t take you out. My mama was a preacher, and she used to say, “If Christ is in the vessel, you can smile at the storm.” You may be in a storm right now, but you are not by yourself. Jesus is in your boat, and he didn’t say anything about going under. He said let us go OVER to the other side.

But the storm was so intense, the disciples forgot what he had said. They thought they were going to die. “Master, don’t you care that we’re about to perish?” The Bible says Jesus arose and rebuked the wind. He went straight to the root of the problem. The disciples were busy trying to bail the water out of the boat, but Jesus went straight to the source of the problem. “And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm” (Mark 4:39).

SWEET VICTORY

For every great storm, there is a great calm. My mama used to say, “The harder the battle, the sweeter the victory.” The devil tried, but he failed. Jesus and his disciples crossed over to the other side of the lake. And when they arrived, the demon-possessed man met them and fell down on his knees before Jesus. The Bible says, “At the name of Jesus every knee shall bow… and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord…” (Philippians 2:10-11).

Jesus drove every demon out of that man and set him free. The demons were so terrified, they fled and entered a herd of pigs and drowned themselves in the same lake they tried to drown Jesus and his disciples in. God is about to turn the tables in your favor and cause your enemies to fall into the pit they dug for you. The man who was set free, his testimony was so impactful, that when Jesus returned to that region in Mark 7, the people came to him by the multitudes.

Don’t give up. There is a great harvest on the other side of your storm. That is what the fight is all about. But come hell or high water, you’re going to make it to the other side. Jesus is in your boat, and he said you’re going over to the other side!
