Seize the Moment
God gave me a powerful word for the new year: 2025 will be your year of unusual opportunities! How do we recognize these opportunities, and how do we prepare to walk in success? The answer is simpler than we realize.
Too often, we wait for everything to be perfect. We all want that big open door, that enormous financial breakthrough before we move forward, but most of the time, that is not how faith works. The Bible says, “Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest” (Ecclesiastes 11:4 NLT).
It is okay to wait. There is a season for that, but I believe waiting on God is now an excuse in the church. I like this quote by Oral Roberts. He said God cannot steer a parked car. That means God cannot direct you if you’re not moving.
Moving Forward in Faith
Recently, my wife and I had the privilege of counseling another minister of the Gospel, and the fire of the Holy Spirit began to move through the Word of God. I want to share some of those Scriptures with you because many of you are wondering which door to walk through, which direction to take for your life. Many of you are seeking clarity. You want that reassurance.
Look at this wisdom from Psalm 1. The Bible says, “And he (the righteous) shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and WHATSOEVER he doeth shall prosper” (Psalm 1:3 KJV). Did you read that? The Bible says “whatsoever” you do will prosper.
Sometimes God brings us into a “whatsoever” season. If something works out for you, just do it. It may not be your heart’s desire, but at least it’s something. If you don’t put your hand to it, it won’t prosper. God said 2025 will be your year of opportunity, but you have to seize the moment. I heard a man of God say if there aren’t any other doors open, except one door, run through it because there may be the thing you’ve been praying for behind that open door.
Supernatural Harvests
The Bible says, “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might…” (Ecclesiastes 9:10). There is that word again: whatsoever. I remember when Pastor Aimee started talking to me about getting on social media. God was really dealing with her, but I didn’t want to do it. I felt stupid. I wanted a bunch of lights and cameras and everything to be perfect, but my wife said you have a smartphone. You are paying for it. Why not get on social media?
I finally listened to her and started going on Periscope with my Android Note 5. Eventually, I started taking the videos we posted on Periscope and uploading them to YouTube. Within a few years, our YouTube channel exploded. Now, we have over 425,000 subscribers! Why? Because I seized the moment. I didn’t want to at first. I was like Naaman. I had a preconceived idea about how God would give us a breakthrough, but I finally obeyed the Holy Spirit’s guidance. And at the right time, God gave us a harvest.
Call to Action
I believe God is talking to someone right now. Go in the strength you have. If you are faithful in the least, God will trust you with more (Luke 16:10). His Word says in Deuteronomy 28:12, “The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless ALL the work of thine hand…”
This blessing will only manifest with action. The Bible says, “In all labor there is profit, but idle chatter leads only to poverty” (Proverbs 14:23 NKJV). I believe God is stirring someone reading this. It’s time to stop talking and start acting. If you do what you can, God will do what you cannot. He will turn your water into wine, but you have to fill the water pots. He will raise Lazarus from the grave, but you have to move the stone. He will fill your nets with fish, but you have to cast them in the water. What are you waiting for?
