Victory in Your Mouth
The Bible says that life and death are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21). In other words, you will have whatever you say. Do you want victory? Start declaring it under the anointing. Do you have a mountain? Use the authority God invested in you and speak to it. Jesus said, “whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith” (Mark 11:23).
Joshua understood the power of declaration. In Joshua 10, five kings came up against Israel’s ally, Gibeon. “And the men of Gibeon sent unto Joshua to the camp to Gilgal, saying, Slack not thy hand from thy servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us: for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the mountains are gathered together against us” (Joshua 10:6).
Joshua honored his covenant with the Gibeonites, and he and his army set out to their land to help them. “And the Lord said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee” (Joshua 10:8). Glory to God. God is speaking to somebody right now. Do not be afraid. God is on your side. Not a one of your enemies will be able to withstand you. I dare somebody to lift your hands to heaven and say, “Help is on the way!” I don’t care what you are facing right now. Help is on the way!
So, Joshua traveled all night and took the enemy by surprise. Surprise, devil! I’m back! It ain’t over. My God. I feel the anointing. “And the LORD discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth up to Bethhoron, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah” (Joshua 10:10). And as the enemy fled before Israel, the Lord rained great hailstones on them, and more died from the hailstones than from the sword. The Lord fought for Israel, and He is fighting for you right now. This battle is not yours; it belongs to the Lord.
Now, as Joshua and his army were fighting and annihilating the enemy, the sun began to go down. If the sun completely set, Joshua would have been unable to completely defeat the enemy. He was running out of time. Does anybody need more time? God is about to answer your prayer.
“Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon” (Joshua 10:12). God honored Joshua’s words and performed a miracle. So, the sun stood still until Israel had completely defeated their adversaries.
I want to encourage you to open your mouth and speak to your situation. Speak to it in the name of Jesus. Say, I’m coming out. My marriage is coming out. My children are coming out. Say, it’s not over until God says it’s over. God is on your side. David said, “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell” (Psalm 27:1-2). Your enemies are about to fall before you. Your mountain is about to move. Your situation is about to turn around for the better. There is victory in your mouth.
