Keep On Standing

Have you ever noticed the closer you try to get to God, the more distractions and attacks you experience? Why? The enemy is trying to steal what God has deposited inside you, the everlasting, indestructible Word of God. And when the Word of God is sown into your heart and mind, the devil gets nervous because God’s Word always produces results.
God said, “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it” (Isaiah 55:11 NKJV).
THE POWER OF GOD'S WORD
This week, we have been diving deep into the Parable of the Sower on our daily morning prayer broadcast, and I and many others have been so blessed by the revelation the Holy Spirit has been illuminating in this passage of Scripture.
The Parable of the Sower is found in Matthew 13. It is a story Jesus told about a farmer planting seed. The seed represents the Word of God. Some seeds fell on the wayside, and the birds devoured them. Some seeds fell among rocky soil, and though they sprouted quickly, they soon withered because their roots did not develop. Some seeds fell among thorns, which choked the tender plants. Lastly, some seeds fell on good soil and produced fruit.
We encourage you to watch our morning broadcast series, The Power of God’s Word, as we explain what each of these types of soil represents. The series is available on our website, app, and social media, and I promise you this series is life-changing.
UNDERSTANDING THE ROCKY SOIL
Today, we will focus on the seeds that fell on rocky soil. Jesus said, “The seed on the rocky soil represents those who hear the message and immediately receive it with joy” (Matthew 13:20 NLT). We all get excited when we begin to receive answers from the Word of God as we meditate on the Scriptures in our personal prayer time or listen to an anointed man or woman of God expound the Bible. God’s Word is our compass. It is the “light to our path,” the key to wisdom, answered prayer, and breakthroughs (Psalm 119:105). It has the power to break yokes, build faith, and impact entire families, communities, and even nations for the glory of God.
No wonder the devil is throwing the kitchen sink and everything else at you every time you make an effort to spend time in God’s Word. He knows if you allow the Holy Spirit to plant the Scriptures deep inside your heart, you are unstoppable, a threat to his kingdom. So, he does everything in his power to try to uproot God’s Word from inside your heart.
PERSEVERANCE THROUGH TRIALS
Jesus said the seeds that fell among rocky soil are people who immediately get excited when they hear God’s Word. “Yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles” (Matthew 13:21 NKJV).
So many Christians become unstable in their faith because all hell begins breaking loose in their lives because Satan is trying to take what God has deposited in them. And because of lack of knowledge and ignorance, they lose perspective and think their trials and tribulations are all about them.
It’s not about you; it’s about what you’re carrying on the inside. The Apostle Paul said, “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us” (2 Corinthians 4:7). I feel the Holy Spirit. You become a prime target because the devil knows if God’s Word takes root inside you, it will produce a harvest of results. He will attack your mind. Jesus said, “Tribulation or persecution arises because of the word.”
I cannot tell you how many times our viewers wrote to me and said, “Pastor Sean, the more I listen to you preach the Word, the more the enemy is attacking me.” The enemy is testing you because he knows it is only a matter of time before the Word of God starts manifesting in your life, but “greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4 KJV). The Bible says, “When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him” (Isaiah 59:19). Hang in there!
YOUR BREAKTHROUGH IS COMING
The Word is working in your life, and it’s going to produce a supernatural harvest, a miracle in your health, a turnaround in your finances, unusual favor on your job. It’s going to open doors that no man can shut. It’s going to save that unbelieving spouse and arrest that prodigal son or daughter and bring them back to the redeeming power of the cross. It will restore relationships, release breakthroughs, break generational curses, and set captives free. There is power in God’s Word, so hold on to his promises. Don’t let the enemy rob you of your miracle.
“Having done all…” stand! The only way the enemy can have the victory over you is if you decide to give up. The choice is yours. You have more power than the devil, but you have to persevere. Don’t quit. Hold on, even if you have to hold on by a thread, because God’s Word never returns void. It is about to explode in your life. Keep on standing!
