God Is Taking Care of You
I am so excited about what God is going to do in 2025. God gave me a word for this upcoming year, and I cannot wait to share it with you, so stay tuned because God has an on-time word for you that will bless, strengthen, and encourage you for the new year.
But before we get into 2025, we look forward to Christmas to honor the birth of the Savior of the world, the lamb of God who was sacrificed for our sins so that we might receive forgiveness, salvation, and eternal life.
Jesus is the reason for the season, and as we dive into the story of Jesus’ early life, I want to focus on the fact that God is taking care of you. The Bible says he knows what you need before you even ask him (Matthew 6:8). He is your good shepherd, and he “shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19 KJV).
Sign From Heaven
Sometime after Jesus was born, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him” (Matthew 2:2). Glory to God. He used the sky as a billboard to announce the coming of his Son. When God gets ready to do something, he does it big.
When John baptized Jesus in the River Jordan, the heavens were opened, and the Holy Spirit descended on Jesus in the form of a dove. And a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:17). God knows how to speak on your behalf. Stop trying to convince people. They know whether God is with you or not, whether they acknowledge it or not.
Divine Protection
So, wise men from the east saw the star of Bethlehem, and when Herod heard that these Magi had come to pay their respects to the “King of the Jews,” he was troubled. Herod felt threatened because he was king over Judea, and he gathered all the priests and scribes and inquired where the Messiah would be born. According to the prophecy in Micah, they told him that Christ would be born in Bethlehem.
“And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, ‘Go and search carefully for the young Child, and when you have found Him, bring back word to me, that I may come and worship Him also’” (Matthew 2:8). Herod was a liar, a deceiver. He wanted to kill the child, but God had given the prophetic word that Jesus would be born in Bethlehem thousands of years before Herod was even born.
The devil can’t stop God’s plan from coming to pass. I dare you to speak to yourself, to type in the comments, “God is taking care of me.” The Bible says, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper” (Isaiah 54:17).
Supernatural Provision
So, the wise men went to Bethlehem, “And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him” (Matthew 2:11). Notice the Bible says, “they had come into the house.” Christ was born in a stable, but he didn’t stay in the stable. I believe someone is rejoicing right now. You may be in a situation that you don't want to stay in but hang in there. God knows how to bring you out of the stable and into the house.
When the wise men saw the Christ child, they fell down and worshipped him, and they gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh, which is one of the reasons why we give gifts on Christmas day. These wise men understood honor. They knew they were a part of something that would shape the history of the world. Little did they know how profound their gifts were.
Herod wanted to kill Jesus, and God warned the wise men about his plot, so they secretly went home without telling him anything. When Herod found out, he was furious, and he ordered his soldiers to kill every male child in Bethlehem. But God warned Joseph in a dream, and he took his wife and child and escaped to Egypt. No doubt they used the gold the wise men gave to cover the expenses of their journey. And they stayed in Egypt until Herod died.
God is a million steps ahead of the enemy. Nothing the devil does takes God by surprise. God provided for Joseph and Mary’s needs in advance. If it’s his will, it’s his bill.
And the same God who protected them and provided for them is the same God who is watching over and providing for you. His timing is perfect, and his plan for your life will come to pass no matter the challenges you encounter. He is in control, and he is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).
