Trust in the Lord
Are you seeking direction from the Lord. Many of us wonder how will we hear from Him? How do we position ourselves to receive His guidance? The answers to these questions are in the Word of God.
Have Confidence
One of the keys to receiving direction from the Lord is to keep on trusting. The Bible says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6, KJV).
The word trust in verse 5 means to have confidence in someone, to be secure in him, to have faith in him, to believe in him. Simply put, God is telling you, “I want you to have confidence in Me, in My ability to lead you, guide you, direct you, protect you, and provide for you.” God wants you to trust Him.
The enemy has been attacking you lately because he is trying to shake your confidence in God and in His Word. But the devil is a liar. Have faith in God. He has never failed, and He never will.
Don’t Limit God
The Bible says to trust in the Lord and not lean on your own understanding. In other words, do not depend on your own knowledge because you are limited. God may not come through for you the way you expect, but do not limit Him.
He is the God of the impossible, and His ways are higher than your ways. His thoughts are higher than your thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). He will answer you in a way that will shock you, and He is about to do something new in your life, something explosive.
He said in Isaiah 43, “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert” (verse 19).
Pray About Everything
Back to Proverbs 3. God is telling us to trust Him, depend on Him, and acknowledge Him in all our ways. To acknowledge God in all your ways means to pray about everything, to seek His will in all you do. Are you about to make decisions in your business, employment, relationships? Talk to God about these things, and He will show you which choice to make.
He said in Jeremiah 33, “Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not” (verse 3).
God will guide you. He just wants you to involve Him in everything you do. “Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust Him, and He will help you” (Psalm 37:5 NLT). The word commit in this verse means to roll your cares on the Lord.
The Apostle Paul said in Philippians 4, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank Him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus” (verses 6-7).
God Is in Control
Do not worry about how God’s purpose for your life will be fulfilled. King David said in Psalm 138, “The Lord will work out His plans for my life —for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for You made me” (verse 8).
You cannot make God’s plan come to pass in your life. God is responsible. He is in control, He is on the throne, and He is working all things together for good (Romans 8:28). Lift your hands to heaven and say, “God is working it out.” Trust in the Lord!
We See Him Working

We are living in exciting times!
