Expect a Miracle

Never give up. Say it out loud. Never give up. You have to take that option completely off the table. The moment you leave "giving up" as a possibility, the enemy will make it look reasonable. But I came to tell you this morning — the devil is a liar. Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.
Hold on. You are not a quitter. Hold on when it doesn't make sense. Hold on when the sky looks clear and there's not a cloud in sight. Because your miracle is already moving — you just haven't seen it yet.
THE PROPHET WHO REFUSED TO STOP
Turn with me to 1 Kings chapter 18! Now I need you to understand the context. Elijah had just come off the greatest confrontation of his entire ministry. Eight hundred and fifty prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel. And Elijah stood there. Alone. Well — not alone, because when God is with you, you are never truly alone! He prayed a simple prayer. He just said, Lord, let these people know I am your servant and that I have done everything at your word.
And that right there is the key, church! He did everything according to the Word! He didn't do it his way. He did it God's way! And when you do it God's way, fire comes down! Fire fell from heaven and consumed the sacrifice, licked up the water, burned up the dust! And the whole nation fell on their faces and cried out, "The Lord — He is God!"
But now Elijah has another assignment. It hadn't rained in three and a half years. Three and a half years! Everything was dried up. The famine had been long. The people were worn down, but they had repented. And God said — now. Now it's time for rain.
So Elijah climbed back up to the top of that same mountain. The place of his greatest battle became the place of his next breakthrough! And he bowed his face between his knees and he prayed.
I love that picture. He blocked everything out! He shut the world off! He got into his secret place! Because Jesus said your Father — your Father who sees what you do in secret — will reward you openly! So Elijah went into his secret place and he prayed. And then he told his servant, "Go look toward the sea."
The servant came back. I don't see anything.
Elijah said, "Go again."
The servant went. Came back. Nothing. Not one cloud. Just hot sun and a dry sky.
"Go again."
And right here — right here is where most of us lose it! After the first time, some of us are already getting an attitude with God! By the third time we're questioning whether we ever heard from Him at all! By the fifth time we've already pulled out a plan B! We've already started making other arrangements!
But Elijah? Elijah kept his face between his knees and kept praying. Go again. Go again. Go again. Seven times he sent that servant. Seven times! Because Elijah was not moved by what his eyes couldn't see — he was anchored to what he felt in his spirit! And that's what faith is! The Bible says faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not yet seen!
Hold on. You are not a quitter. Hold on when it doesn't make sense. Hold on when the sky looks clear and there's not a cloud in sight. Because your miracle is already moving — you just haven't seen it yet.

A CLOUD THE SIZE OF A MAN'S HAND
The seventh time — the seventh time — the servant came back and said, "I saw something. It was a little cloud. About the size of a man's hand, rising from the sea."
That was enough. That was all Elijah needed.
See, somebody's got to understand what Elijah understood — that God doesn't need much to work with! Jesus said faith the size of a mustard seed can move a mountain! He didn't say you had to see all the rain. He didn't say you had to see the flood. He didn't say the whole sky had to open up before you could believe. He said one cloud — one cloud the size of a man's hand — is your confirmation. That's God saying, I heard you. The answer is already in motion. The rain is on the way.
And can I tell you what happened next? The Bible says the sky went black with clouds! Somebody in this place needs to hear that! Somebody has been in a famine. It's been dry. It's been long. You've been praying and you've been waiting and you've been sending your servant back — and every time they come back, they say, "I don't see anything. Nothing's changed. Same sky, same drought, same silence."
But I came to tell you today — I came with a word in my mouth today — your famine is over! Something is about to move! Something is about to break! Something is about to work out in your favor! The cloud is already rising. You just can't see it yet. Don't you dare quit now. Don't you give up in the seventh inning. Hang on — and go again.

THE HAND OF THE LORD
Now watch how God closes this story, because this is where it gets good. Ahab had a 24-mile journey to Jezreel. He was on horses, in chariots. And the Bible says the hand of the Lord came upon Elijah — the Spirit of God stirred in him — and Elijah tucked his cloak into his belt and ran. No horses. No chariot. Just a man and the power of God.
By the time Ahab arrived with all his horses and all his chariots, Elijah was already there. He outran the horses. He outran the chariot. Twenty-four miles with the strength of the Lord. They that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint.
Is there anything too hard for God? He is a miracle-working God and He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. What He did for Elijah, He can do for you. What He did on Mount Carmel, He can do in your situation.
I don't care how long the drought has been — His rain is coming! I don't care how tired your legs are — His strength is sufficient! He's still the same God! He's still in the business of miracles! He's still answering prayers! He's still sending fire! He's still opening heavens! He's still making ways out of no way!
You are expecting a miracle — and God is not going to disappoint you.

HOMECOMING SUNDAY — YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS
MHC Church Family Reunion This Sunday, May 24th
Church family, this is the week! Homecoming Sunday is here and I am telling you — I am SO excited about what God is getting ready to do! The heavens are about to open over Miracle Healing Center, and just like He poured out His Spirit on the day of Pentecost, we are standing in faith and believing Him for a mighty outpouring this Sunday!
God laid it on my heart to host a Homecoming Sunday once a year where our online family and our local congregation come together as one — believers of like precious faith, coming together and believing God to move in a supernatural way.
If you are believing God for a healing, for a financial breakthrough, for salvation for your family – whatever you need from God, we want to join our faith with you and believe God to do the impossible on your behalf.
This is not a regular Sunday. Come expecting. Come believing. Come ready to receive everything God has for you. God is about to do something we will talk about for years to come.
