Can You Worship God in Tough Times?
It is easy to give God thanks when everything is going right. It is easy to give Him praise when your marriage is going great, your children are in church, and your finances are experiencing a surplus. But the test of faith is not when everything is going as hoped. Can you worship God in tough times?
Job was a man of great patience and integrity. In one day, he lost all he owned – 7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, 500 teams of oxen, 500 donkeys, and worse, his seven sons and three daughters. Job was utterly distraught, but despite the grief he suffered, he fell to his knees and worshipped God. “The Lord gave me what I had,” he said, “and the Lord has taken it away. Praise the name of the Lord!”
God rewarded Job’s faith, and in the end, Job received twice as much as he had before. God gave him 14,000 sheep, 6,000 camels, 1,000 teams of oxen, and 1,000 donkeys. God also gave Job seven more sons and three more daughters. Your suffering is not in vain. God will bless if you dare to trust Him. Have faith.
