The One Thing You're Doing That's Blocking the Answer You've Been Praying For

What if the very thing you've been trying so hard to figure out is the exact thing that's been blocking your breakthrough?
Stay with me here, because I believe what I'm about to share with you is going to change the way you've been approaching everything God has placed in your heart.
You've been praying. You've been planning. You've been lying awake at night running through every possible scenario in your mind, trying to map out how God's promise for your life is actually going to come to pass. You can see it in your spirit - the ministry, the business, the next chapter, the breakthrough - but the path from where you are right now to where God is calling you seems impossible to figure out.
Can I be honest with you tonight?
That frustration you're feeling? That anxiety, that sleeplessness, those questions that just won't quiet down? That's not a sign that God has forgotten you. That's a sign that you're still holding on to something God is asking you to put down.
The Word That Changed Everything For Me
I want to take you to Proverbs 16:3. It's a verse you may have read a hundred times, but I promise you, when the Holy Ghost breaks it open for you tonight, you're going to read it for the very first time.
"Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established."
Now the first word - commit - that is where everything begins. And most of us have been reading right past it.
The word commit in that verse literally means to roll. To roll down. To roll upon. To roll away. It means to take whatever you have been working on, whatever plan, whatever dream, whatever calling God has placed inside of you - and take the whole thing off your shoulder and roll it completely onto the Lord's.
I want you to picture this. Have you ever been carrying something so heavy that when someone finally took it from you, you felt the relief in your entire body? That exhale. That sudden lightness. That's exactly what God is asking you to do today - with your future, with your plans, with every question you've been carrying alone.
God did not design you to carry this without Him. And I want you to hear me clearly - trying to carry it in your own strength isn't just exhausting you. It is actually getting in the way of what God is trying to do.

Three Things That Have to Happen in This Order
When I was preparing this message, God showed me something in this verse that I haven't been able to shake. There are three life-changing principles locked inside Proverbs 16:3 — and when you grab hold of them, nothing stays the same. Here they are:
Commitment comes before clarity.
Surrender comes before stability.
Trust comes before establishment.
Most of us are waiting on God to give us the full picture before we're willing to commit. We want the road map first. We want the GPS to show us every turn, every exit, every possible detour before we put the car in drive. But that is not how God operates. Abraham went out not knowing where he was going. He didn't receive the blueprint before he left - he received it on the journey.
The clarity you've been waiting for is not going to come until you commit. That's not me saying it. That's the Word of God.
The Name Behind the Promise
I need you to understand something about the name "Lord" in that verse. That's Yahweh. That is God's covenant-keeping name. When the scripture says commit your works unto the Lord, it is saying - roll your works onto the God who makes and keeps covenants. The God who exists outside of time. The God who already sees the outcome of your work before you have even taken the first step.
He doesn't need external resources. He doesn't run out of options. He cannot fail.
So when you roll your plans onto Him, you are not releasing them into uncertainty - you are releasing them into the hands of the only One who has ever been certain.

What the Word "Established" Actually Means
Now look at the second half of that verse. "And thy thoughts shall be established."
The word established there is loaded. When God says your thoughts - your plans, your intentions, your God-given purpose - will be established, He is saying: I will set you up. I will fix it. I will bring stability into your life. I will cause you to be secure. What I give you will be enduring. You will be directed. You will be settled. Everything you lost will be restored.
But notice what comes first. All of that - every single one of those promises - comes after you let go.
Not before. After.
You want to know if you haven't fully let go yet? Check your peace. If you're still up and down, in and out, on and off - you're still holding the wheel. God is saying, it's time to go autonomous. Take your hands off. The brakes are on His side of the car.
A Word Directly to You
Maybe you've been believing God for something for years. Decades even. Maybe you're tired. Maybe the dream feels so big and the wait has been so long that you've started wondering if you misheard God altogether.
You didn't.
You are in what I call a holding pattern. Like a plane circling the airport, you are not lost - you are being positioned. And just like Joseph in prison, there is going to come a moment when the king sends for you. When the door swings open. When what you've been waiting and preparing for suddenly becomes right now.
But none of it is going to move until you release it completely to God.
Here is what I want you to do right now. Take your ministry, your business, your plans, your family, your finances, your questions, your fears, your future - take all of it and roll it onto the Lord. Not some of it. All of it. And then trust Him. Not with your words only, but with your posture. With your peace. With your willingness to take the next step even when you can't see the one after it.
Commit your way unto the Lord. Trust also in Him. And He shall bring it to pass.
He is going to bring it to pass.
