The RIGHT PLACE Was YOUR Decision... Not an ACCIDENT

2 Kings 2:11-15 | RIGHT PLACE RIGHT TIME

There are moments in life that do not wait for you to be ready.

They arrive. They happen. And if you are not in the right position when they do — you will watch from a distance as something that was meant for you passes to someone else. Not because you were disqualified. Not because God changed His mind. Simply because you were not close enough when the moment came.

2 Kings 2 records one of the most decisive moments of positioning in the entire Bible. And the difference between the ones who were far away and the one who was close enough was not ability, not calling, not worthiness.

It was a decision made three times before the moment arrived.

Three times YOU were told to stay. Three times the instruction was to go no further. Three times the easier choice — the more reasonable choice — the choice that most people in that situation would have made — was right there in front of YOU.

And three times YOU said no.

Here is what most people miss about this passage — being in the right place at the right time was not something that happened TO the person who received what fell. It was something they CHOSE — repeatedly, deliberately, against the instruction given — before they ever saw what was coming.

And because of those three decisions — when the moment arrived, when the thing that was being carried finally fell — YOU were the only one close enough to reach it.

There is a specific condition in this passage — stated before the moment happened, attached to the promise before any of it was visible — that reveals exactly what being in the right place at the right time actually requires of YOU. Most people know the outcome of this story. Most people have never stopped to examine what made the outcome possible.

That is what this message is about.
