More Explaining Won't Change a Closed Heart

Aug 9, 2026    Pastor Sean Pinder

You have spent so much energy trying to make them understand.

You explained your heart. You explained your decision. You explained why you had to change, why you had to pray, why you had to walk away from what was killing you. And the more you explained, the more they twisted it. The more you defended yourself, the smaller you felt.

Here is what nobody told you: some hearts are not closed because you explained it wrong. They are closed because they decided not to receive you long before you opened your mouth.

Jesus knew when to stop talking. In Mark 3, He faced a room of hard hearts watching Him, waiting to accuse Him — and He did not launch into another explanation. He grieved their hardness… and then He moved in power anyway. He healed the man in front of them. He let the miracle say what words never could.

That is the word for you today. You were never called to argue your way into someone's acceptance. You are not required to hand what is sacred in you to people who only want to trample it. Stop explaining. Start focusing. Keep your eyes on the One who already understands every part of you.

No weapon formed against you is going to prosper — not the misunderstanding, not the accusation, not the silence of the people you hoped would finally get it. God can still turn this around. But God. That is the whole sentence. But God.

Press play. This is the message for everyone who is tired of defending themselves and ready to let God do the talking.
