He's Got You
There was a moment YOU faced something and felt completely alone in it.
No one really understood. No one could carry it with YOU. And in the quiet of that season — the sleepless nights, the private fear, the weight YOU held without telling anyone how heavy it actually was — YOU came to believe that YOU were handling it by yourself. That is the story most people carry out of their hardest seasons: I got through that alone.
These passages say something different. They say YOU were never actually alone.
Because there is a promise here so specific, so personal, that it removes the possibility of ever facing anything by yourself again. It is not a vague assurance that God is somewhere out there. It describes God doing something with His own hand — a specific action, in the exact moment of fear — that most people have read a hundred times and never once pictured as literally as it was written.
Here is what most people miss.
In the very moment YOU thought no one was holding YOU, Scripture says a hand was already holding yours. Not after the storm. Not once YOU had proven yourself. During it. While it was happening. While YOU felt most abandoned, something was steadying YOU that YOU could not see — and there is a specific reason YOU did not fall when everything in that season should have taken YOU down.
YOU credited yourself with surviving it. YOU were being upheld the entire time.
There is also a specific instruction in these passages about what to do with the anxiety and fear that made those seasons feel so isolating — a way to trade the thing that was crushing YOU for a peace that does not even make sense given what YOU are facing. A peace that guards YOU like something posted at a gate. Most people never receive it because they skip the one condition attached to it.
And there is a promise about sudden fear — the kind that hits with no warning — that tells YOU exactly why YOUR foot was never actually taken, even in the moments YOU were certain YOU were going down alone.
What was the hand doing? What is the peace that guards YOU? And what kept YOUR foot from being taken when YOU thought no one was there?
