God Was Waiting For Them to Leave

Jun 5, 2026    Pastor Sean Pinder

Think about the person — or the people — who left your life. The departure that hurt. The separation you never asked for. The relationship that ended before you were ready.

Now ask yourself — what if God was waiting for exactly that moment?

Not tolerating it. Not allowing it reluctantly. WAITING for it. And the moment they were gone — He turned to YOU and said something He could not say while they were still there.

Genesis 13 contains a detail that most people read past without stopping. God did not speak to Abram before the separation. He did not speak to Abram during the separation. He spoke to Abram the moment the separation was complete. And what He said — what He showed him, what He promised him, what He released over his life in that moment — was something that had been held back the entire time the wrong person was present.

Here is the question nobody is asking — what has God been holding back in YOUR life because of who is still standing in the room?

And here is the harder question — what has already been released over YOUR life since the person who left walked out the door — that you have not yet recognized as the blessing it actually is?

Lot chose the best land. He took what looked like the greatest opportunity. He walked away with what any reasonable person would have chosen. And what was left for Abram looked like the lesser portion.

But the moment Lot left — God spoke. And what God said to Abram about what was LEFT will permanently reframe every separation you have ever experienced.

There is something in Genesis 13:12-18 that most teachings on this passage never reach. Not because it is hidden — but because most people stop reading before they get to it. And that one thing changes the entire meaning of every departure, every loss, and every person who was removed from your life.

It is in this message. Press play — because what God was waiting to say to YOU may have already started the moment they left.
