The Cause Was Never You

There are droughts that make no sense.

Not because God is absent. Not because your faith is insufficient. Not because you have done something wrong. But because the answer to why the drought exists is somewhere you have never been told to look.

2 Samuel 21 opens with a famine. Not a brief one. Not a seasonal one. One that had continued — year after year — without explanation. And the person leading through it had no idea what was causing it. None.

Which raises a question most people never stop to ask — what if the source of YOUR prolonged season of difficulty is somewhere you have never looked for it?

And what if the reason you have not found it is not because it is hidden — but because nobody has ever shown you where to look?

There is something in this passage about the nature of prolonged drought — about what sustains it, what conceals it, and what is required to end it — that most people will spend years experiencing without ever understanding. And the moment you see it, the way you approach every unexplained season of lack, delay, and difficulty in your life will permanently change.

But there is one more thing. Something that happens in the middle of this passage — something that most teachings on this text skip past entirely — that holds the key to why the drought did not end when it should have.

What is that something?

And what does 2 Samuel 21 reveal about the cause of YOUR prolonged season that changes everything about how you respond to it?

The answer is not here.

Press play — because the thing stopping YOUR blessing has nothing to do with YOU. And once you find out what it IS — you will know exactly what to do.
