You're Going to Make It

You are not alone. God is with you, and when He gives you an assignment, He involves Himself in the mission. He does not leave when you encounter difficulties and tribulations, so cry out to Him. He is faithful, and He will answer and deliver you.

YOU CAN SMILE AT THE STORM

In Mark 4, Jesus told His disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.” The disciples did not know, but on the other side of the lake was a man possessed by a legion of demons. When Jesus set this man free, the entire region believed in the power of God.

Jesus was on a mission, and His disciples followed His instruction and began to cross over to the other side of the lake. When you begin to obey God, everything may be smooth sailing at first. But the disciples suddenly encountered trouble. “But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water” (Mark 4:37, NLT).

The devil was trying to destroy the boat because he knew Jesus would soon drive him out, not only out of that man but out of that region. But he messed with the wrong boat because Jesus was on board. My mom used to say, “If Jesus is in the vessel, you can smile at the storm.”

OUT OF THEM ALL

Notice that even though Jesus was in the boat, the disciples still encountered a fierce storm. Being a Christian does not exempt you from trials and tribulations. You may be doing everything you are supposed to – praying, reading the Bible, fasting, tithing – and still experience trouble. Why? We are in a spiritual war, and the enemy is trying to get us to give up on our faith.

The Bible says, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous” (Psalm 34:19a, KJV). God is telling us in advance we will experience troubles, difficulties, and persecution because of our faith. But we can be encouraged because the verse continues to say, “…but the Lord delivers him out of them all” (Psalm 34:19b).

You may be facing trials and tribulations right now, but be encouraged. God will deliver you out of them all. Remember, He told His disciples, “Let us cross over to the other side of the lake.” He did not say anything about going under. If you have to walk on water like Peter or cling on to broken pieces like Paul, you will make it to the other side because when God says you are going over, you are going over.

CALL ON HIS NAME

So, the disciples were caught in a terrible storm, and they began to panic. And even though the boat was being tossed like a toy and the rain and waves were pouring into the ship, Jesus was at the back of the boat, sleeping. How could He sleep in a time like that?

“Teacher, don’t You care that we’re going to drown?” the disciples shouted. Have you ever felt that way? Have you ever prayed and screamed, and it seemed like God was sleeping? Don’t give up. God is not ignoring your prayers. You have His attention. Continue to call on His name. The Bible says, “The name of the LORD is a strong tower: The righteous run into it and are safe” (Proverbs 18:10).

PEACE! BE STILL!

Jesus woke up, and He rebuked the winds and waves. “Peace! Be still!” “Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm” (Mark 4:39, NLT). After every great storm is a great calm. If you have been experiencing great trials, you are about to experience great triumphs. If you have been experiencing great losses, you are about to experience great gains. If you have been experiencing a great battle, you are about to experience a great victory.

God is about to bring you into a season of peace and rest. Lift your hands to heaven. God has heard your prayers, and He is about to answer you. I dare you to speak peace over your marriage, children, health, and finances. You are not going under. This storm cannot take you out. Jesus is on board your boat, and when you obey His word, you will make it to the other side.

TRUE FOR US AND TRUE FOR YOU

We’ve seen obedience to God’s word for our lives pay off on every occasion. When we faced trials as a family, through obedience to God’s word our family made it to the other side. When we faced financial challenges, obedience to God’s word ensured our needs were met. And even when we just recently took the leap and obeyed God in opening the doors of Miracle Healing Center, He made sure we reached our destination, opening facility doors for us and providing what was needed to launch the ministry. I’m thankful we serve a God who keeps His word, aren’t you?

I hope today’s letter encourages you. I hope you feel a renewed sense of confidence in obeying God. As Dr. Charles Stanley always used to say, “Obey God and leave the consequences to Him.”

If God is leading you to give today, we’re honored you chose us. Thank you for obeying God. Thank you for meeting the needs of His kingdom here on earth. You can give in the following ways:
